SA2 was highly loved for it's time, and it's proven since people still like it now. Generations itself is a shallow game meant as one big 40$ easter egg for fans who did nothing but bitch after shadow and 06, not too mention there are a bunch of other games that are better then sonic generations, even 10$ Xbox Live and Steam games. Not good, but you guys can hype this up all you want.
Sorry, I just don't think "aged" is a good argument to me, cause I thought it meant physical changes, and the game can't physically change, on the gamer. I'm not saying the game is not perfect or that everyone else should think the same way I do, but I need more then "aged badly", cause many sonic fans didn't even bash that game till after shadow and 06. Matter of fact, some reviewers bashed the gamecube re-release, mocking those who liked the DC version. To me, I thought it was great back then, and I play it more then any other sonic title, even now, I even bought it through steam, hoping that people would hack the game like generations(and I just wanted a digital copy of my favorite sonic game).
But aged is a good arguments because it means that gameplay and graphics wise the game has been surpassed by other games like it. I thought that was clear.
Surpassed? what games are you talking about exactly, because I'm getting the feeling you mean games of this generation when we're talking about one from 10+ years ago, or do you mean games of it's own time? If the latter, it's subjective.
Well it's not very productive to compare old games to new games and more advance games, or course they're going to look better. Even so, I still don't see aging badly as an argument.
Generations may not have anything to complain about, but IMO, nothing to really praise either. If you want more detail, check the articles I wrote in my gallery.
